Airbus Foundation Discovery Space
2nd February 2017
Techniquest has delivered a brand new interactive exhibition in the new Airbus Foundation Discovery Space, a STEM education centre in Stevenage. Our team was contracted to design, manufacture and install a range of bespoke hands on interactives that communicate themes relating to space, communications technology, forces, light and sound. We created interpretative graphics to sit alongside the exhibits, and the entire exhibition is aimed at KS2 and 3 children. Examples of exhibits provided include a controllable robotic arm, an interactive thermal imaging camera and others that allow users to experiment with light, sound and forces.
The exhibition is part of a wider installation that allows users to observe testing of technology being used to develop a new Mars rover (see links provided from Airbus). This is a permanent installation and is based on a long standing partnership between Techniquest and North Hertfordshire College. Techniquest is continuing to work with the centre to develop further exhibits and displays, and this project contributes towards our wider agenda to promote the value of STEM to wider society through interactive engagement.
